This year we are celebrating 40 years of keeping our community healthy!

We are a Free Health Care Clinic

Milan Puskar Health Right (MPHR) is a free health care clinic for residents of West Virginia who are low-income uninsured or underinsured. Milan Puskar Health Right also accepts MEDICAID. Patients are eligible up to 250% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Milan Puskar Health Right was founded in 1984 by a group of concerned citizens on the premise that:

“Every person has a right to health care regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.”

Milan Puskar Health Right believes in the dignity and worth of all people. Basic non-judgmental health care is a right, not a privilege. MPHR provides compassionate care that starts with the expressed needs of the patient. MPHR advocates for patients individually and collectively at the local, state and national level to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Donations

Milan Puskar Health Right is supported, in part, by the United Way and various federal, state, and local grants. We depend in large part on donations and in-kind gifts from individuals. Please see our Donors page for more information.

Milan Puskar Health Right is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; your donation is tax-deductible.

Margaret Kearney Award for Excellence in Volunteerism

Marilyn Ridenour was presented the prestigious Margaret Kearney Award for Excellence in Volunteerism at our 40th anniversary benefit. Marilyn has been volunteering for Milan Puskar Health Right for over a year, mainly serving the L.I.G.H.T. Project. Marilyn is dependable, excellent with our participants and understand the importance of teaching safety and harm reduction to people who are using drugs. When talking about her work here she said the key is, “Helping people without judging them.” She embodies Milan Puskar Health Right’s philosophy. Care without judgment and starting with the expressed needs of the clients. Marilyn is an example of the many volunteers over the last 40 years who have quietly and faithfully come together to help make Milan Puskar Health Right and our community a better, safer, and healthier place to live.

We thank Marilyn and our many passionate, caring and resilient volunteers who have made the past 40 years possible. Thank You!
