We are a Free Health Care Clinic
Milan Puskar Health Right (Health Right) is a free health care clinic for residents of West Virginia who are low-income uninsured or underinsured. Health Right also accepts MEDICAID. Patients are eligible up to 250% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Health Right was founded in 1984 by a group of concerned citizens on the premise that:
“Every person has a right to health care regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.”
The Affordable Care Act and recent changes in Medicaid have driven most free clinics in West Virginia out of the “free care” model, but Health Right’s Board of Directors have found ways to stay true to our roots and our mission.
Donations
Health Right is supported, in part, by the United Way and various federal, state, and local grants. We depend in large part on donations and in-kind gifts from individuals. Please see our Donors page for more information.
Milan Puskar Health Right is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; your donation is tax-deductible.
Our Impact
Our agency has a staff of 30 and a volunteer corps of more than 200.
Health Right provides more than 28,000 patient encounters and dispenses millions of dollars’ worth of free medications to qualified patients every year.
