Mental Health and Outreach

Milan Puskar Health Right offers community-based engagement & support for people with psychiatric illness. Counseling services are available on site to individuals as well as to families. Social workers and homeless outreach case managers aid individuals in applications and housing needs.

Community Engagement Services
Designed to help reduce hospitalization for mental health issues, the Community Engagement Services (CES) Program helps clients maintain a stable lifestyle by assisting with various core functionality. 

MPHR has four community engagement specialists across Monongalia, Preston and Marion Co. who work intensively with people who are at-risk of psychiatric hospitalization or have a history of psychiatric hospitalizations. 

Counseling Services
Licensed Therapists provide counseling for a variety of mental health needs. 
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma 
  • Substance Use
Our therapists provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy. We also have a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program for Opioid Use Disorder. 

Homeless Outreach

Milan Puskar Health Right has a team of Street Outreach Coordinators who work directly with those in the community who are experiencing homelessness and connects them to needed resources for housing. They assist with applications, referrals, and case management. They also enter clients into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and work directly with other organizations to ensure continuity of care.

Legal Liaison Services
The Homeless Outreach Team also has a liaison with the Monongalia County Public Defender’s office to assist with legal issues and transition for those that are justice connected.
 
Social Services
Licensed social workers provide case management and assist clients with referrals. They also help with:
  • HUD Applications 
  • Housing 
  • Medicaid Applications 
  • Medicare Applications 
  • SNAP Benefits 
  • Obtaining Birth Certificates 
  • Obtaining Social Security Cards 
  • Charity Care Applications 
Participants understand treatment is strictly confidential and violation of other participants’ confidentiality is prohibited.
