Milan Puskar Health Right providers see scheduled patients in our clinic in Morgantown. All health care, including prevention, health awareness, and chronic disease management, are free of charge to qualified patients and are offered in clinics or in group education. MPHR has provided medical care, case management support, and mental health counseling to over 7,000 uninsured or Medicaid patients this year.
MPHR social workers attend weekly community-wide multidisciplinary team meetings to assist in better coordination of services and increased housing for those in need. Milan Puskar Health Right takes the initiative to address unmet health care needs in our communities.
With the support of local hospitals, referrals are available to eligible Milan Puskar Health Right patients for lab work, testing, treatment, and some specialty care.
Services We Provide:
- Primary health care: The professional staff is an experienced team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, RNs, LPNs, medical assistants, social workers, and therapists.
- Medication assistance: More than 55,000 prescriptions are filled each year. The staff includes pharm techs, patient assistance program specialists, and medical and pharmacist volunteers.
- Specialty clinics: Clinics are offered on diabetes, pulmonary, infectious disease, cardiology, psychiatry, women’s health, and HIV testing.
- Mental health and outreach: Counseling services are available on site to individuals as well as to families. Social workers and medical staff take limited services to monthly shelters and soup kitchens.
- Referrals: MPHR collaborates with other medical facilities to provide referrals to patients. This year we assisted in 556 referrals for clients to get the care they need. These referrals include dental, vision, lab work and specialty treatments.
MPHR arranged free dental care for more than 180 patients last year, provided eye exams/glasses to 74 individuals and delivered comprehensive care to 7,423 individuals. More than 65% of primary care patients are uninsured, 33% have Medicaid, and only 2% have Medicare.
